The new 2010 Honda Insight

Jon came over and we covered some important ground.
Was great to meet him, he will bring a lot to the project.
The new power section and battery assembly lift out of a plastic pan that is one piece.
Like a big plastic bathtub. It looks like it could stay dry with about 10 inches of water out side it. All the wires come out from under a nice fitting and gasketed stamped steel cover.

The warning label no longer says "you will be killed ", it says you could be killed.

The BCM functions are now in the MCM, which has a dedicated "IMACAN" and a carwide shared "F-CAN" (Fast can)both networks are operating at 500Kbps .

Jon is working on decyphering CanKing hardare and software, Hopefully for dataloging and time stamping.
I will look at getting a datalog of the the MAP, TPS, and Battery current with the same time stamp, and we can see if a pattern emerges.
We would have liked to disassemble the thing further, but we had to go inside several times to get our body heat replenished by storing radiation from my carbon spewing but highly efficient coal stove.

The stove
